Kate is an experienced educator, consultant, speaker and researcher. As a senior academic at the UK Centre for Events Management at Leeds Beckett University, she has been responsible for course development, teaching and research, and helped support hundreds of young people progress from education to a career in the events industry.
Kate is a leading expert in gender, career development and mentoring, and has been invited to speak about her research and chair panel discussions at academic and industry events around the world. She is passionate about supporting young women to believe in themselves and achieve their goals, and has developed and led female leadership programmes for aspiring event professionals.
Kate has conducted consultancy work and research with numerous public and private organisations across Europe and the US. She is currently involved in a research project to understand attitudes to career success and satisfaction in the events industry.
Kate is also a firm believer in the importance of trying to maintain a healthy work-life balance. She lives near Leeds with her husband, two cats and horse, Charlie Mo.
