Nel  has spent over 25 years working in travel, meetings and events. Her career started in a small family run hotel in the Scottish Hebrides at the age of 18. Nel has worked in a variety of hotels, spent 12 years at Zibrant / BCD M&E and progressed to Chief Operating Officer at Captia Travel and Events until November 2020 when she made the decision to follow her other passion and moved to Bookmark Reading Charity as COO.

Nel has a reputation for getting stuff done, she has an enthusistic sense of purpose and gets a real kick from coaching and developing others to thrive and suceed. She is a huge advocate of supporting women to see and realise their potential and believes in the power of building ladders behind you and networks around you.

She lives in Derby with her husband and 7 year old son.
